Curious about Greek-style knitting?
This beginner-friendly class will teach you the basics of knitting with the yarn around your neck— a method that makes purling easier, faster, and more comfortable. In this workshop, I am going to use one of my easiest but still bestseller design: the Fall Wheat, a lovely lacy sweater.
With this workshop, I am going to teach how to do following while using the Greek Knitting Style:
• Knit/purl
• Do every type of increase/decrease
• How to read and follow a chart
• What each symbol of the chart means
• Explain the whole construction of the design
• Practice knitting from the chart the lace diagram
What we will learn:
• Improved Tension Control: Learn to achieve even, consistent tension, making your fabric neater and your stitches more uniform.
• Better Posture and Less Strain: With the yarn around your neck, your hands and wrists move less, reducing fatigue and tension—ideal for those with arthritis or joint discomfort.
• Efficient Stitch Transitions: Seamlessly switch between knit and purl stitches, making it easier to work on ribbing, seed stitch, and textured patterns.
• A Foundation for Colorwork: Build essential skills to prepare for advanced techniques, like Greek-style stranded knitting.
You need to bring:
• A skein of DK yarn (max. 20 gr)
• Needles of 4 mm
• Stitch markers
